- In your "Bellringer" (BR) section of your binder, list the focus word, as well as the P.o.S. (Part of Speech) that identifies how the word is used, in the first column
- Take notes on what the word means (definition) in the second column
- Select an activity that matches your learning level:
You got the word!
So you should focus on creating your own sentence where you can apply your understanding of this word in a new way.
You are OK with the word.
So, you should focus on seeing how the word is used in context, and include at least one of the sample sentences so you can see an example of how it is used appropriately.
You want more support.
So, you should focus on connecting this new word to words you already know by looking in the thesaurus for synonyms and antonyms that are already a part of your vocabulary.
